Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to AI Text Detector. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website located at aitextdetector.ai and all associated services, features, and content (collectively, the “Service”) operated by AI Text Detector (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of the terms and conditions set forth herein, you must not access or use the Service.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, by providing notice through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Description of Service

AI Text Detector is an online tool that uses artificial intelligence and natural language processing techniques to analyze text and estimate the probability that the text was generated by an AI language model. Users submit text through our web interface, and the Service returns an analysis indicating the likelihood that the text was human-written or AI-generated.

The Service is provided as an analytical tool only. Detection results are probabilistic estimates and should be interpreted as one data point among many, not as definitive proof of authorship. For more information on our methodology and its limitations, please see our Accuracy & Limitations page.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18 (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the Service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements. If you do not meet these requirements, you must not access or use the Service.

User Accounts

Certain features of the Service, including premium plans and API access, may require you to create a user account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Promptly update your account information if it changes
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or are being used in violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us or using the account settings functionality where available.

Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. When using the Service, you agree to:

  • Use detection results responsibly and as one factor among many in any assessment or decision
  • Not represent AI detection results as definitive or conclusive proof of AI authorship or human authorship
  • Respect the privacy and rights of others, including the authors of any text you submit for analysis
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations
  • Use the Service in good faith and for its intended purpose of text analysis

Prohibited Uses

You expressly agree not to use the Service to:

  • Abuse or overload the Service: Including submitting automated bulk requests, launching denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise attempting to disrupt the availability or performance of the Service
  • Reverse engineer or extract proprietary methods: Including attempting to decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or otherwise derive the source code, algorithms, or underlying models of the Service
  • Scrape or harvest data for competing services: Including using automated tools or scripts to systematically collect data, results, or content from the Service for the purpose of building or enhancing a competing product or service
  • Harass, defame, or harm others: Including using detection results to falsely accuse, publicly humiliate, bully, or discriminate against any individual
  • Submit illegal or harmful content: Including text that contains malware, illegal material, or content that infringes upon the rights of others
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation: Including impersonating another person, entity, or falsely claiming an association with AI Text Detector
  • Circumvent access controls: Including bypassing rate limits, authentication measures, or other technical restrictions we implement on the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service: Including offering access to the Service to third parties as part of your own commercial product without our prior written consent

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against any violations of these prohibitions, including suspending or terminating your access to the Service without notice.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, functionality, design, branding, and underlying technology (excluding text submitted by users), is and shall remain the exclusive property of AI Text Detector and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the text you submit to the Service for analysis. We claim no ownership over your submitted content. As described in our Privacy Policy, submitted text is processed in memory only and is not stored, retained, or used for any purpose beyond delivering your analysis results.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.

Specifically, and without limiting the foregoing, we make no warranty or representation that:

  • AI detection results are definitive or conclusive. AI text detection is inherently probabilistic in nature. Our tool provides an estimate of the likelihood that text was generated by AI, not a definitive determination. Results should never be used as the sole piece of evidence in any academic, professional, legal, or employment decision.
  • Results are guaranteed to be accurate. No AI detection technology can achieve 100% accuracy. False positives (human text flagged as AI-generated) and false negatives (AI text identified as human-written) are inherent limitations of current detection technology. Detection accuracy may vary depending on the language, subject matter, writing style, length of the submitted text, and the AI model used to generate the text.
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or that it will operate without errors or interruptions.
  • Results will meet your specific requirements. The Service is a general-purpose analytical tool and may not be suitable for all use cases or decision-making contexts.

You acknowledge and agree that any reliance on detection results is at your own risk. We strongly recommend using our results in conjunction with other assessment methods and human judgment.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL AI TEXT DETECTOR, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:

  • Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
  • Any detection results or analysis provided by the Service
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
  • Any decisions made or actions taken based on detection results provided by the Service
  • Any academic, professional, employment, or legal consequences resulting from the use or misuse of detection results

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00).

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AI Text Detector, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) your use of or access to the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, privacy, or proprietary right; or (d) any claim that your use of the Service caused damage to a third party. This indemnification obligation shall survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.

Free and Paid Service Tiers

AI Text Detector offers both free and paid tiers of service:

  • Free Tier: We offer a free tier of our detection service that allows users to analyze text without creating an account or making a payment. The free tier may be subject to usage limits, including restrictions on the number of analyses per day, the length of text per submission, and available features. These limits are subject to change at our discretion.
  • Premium Plans: We may offer paid subscription plans that provide enhanced features, higher usage limits, API access, batch processing, priority support, and other benefits. The specific features and pricing of premium plans will be clearly described on our Pricing page.

We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or adjust the features and limitations of any service tier at any time, with reasonable notice to affected users where practicable.

Payment Terms

For paid subscription plans, the following payment terms apply:

  • All fees are stated in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated and are exclusive of applicable taxes
  • Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) according to the plan you select
  • Payment is due at the beginning of each billing cycle and is processed automatically through our third-party payment processor
  • You authorize us to charge the payment method on file for all fees due under your subscription
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend access to premium features until payment is successfully processed
  • We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days’ advance notice to existing subscribers

Refund Policy

We want you to be satisfied with our Service. If you are not satisfied with a premium plan, you may request a refund under the following conditions:

  • Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the initial purchase or the most recent renewal date
  • Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days
  • Refunds are not available for partial billing periods or after the 14-day window has elapsed
  • If we terminate your account for a violation of these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service will cease immediately
  • Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability
  • If you have a paid subscription, termination for cause will result in forfeiture of any remaining subscription period without refund
  • You may terminate your account at any time by discontinuing use of the Service and, if applicable, contacting us to request account deletion

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. To the extent that any lawsuit or court proceeding is permitted under these Terms, you and AI Text Detector agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware.

Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at legal@aitextdetector.ai. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve any dispute within 30 days of receiving your written notice.

If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue formal resolution. You agree that any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement or misappropriation of intellectual property rights.

You agree that any arbitration or legal proceedings shall be conducted on an individual basis only, and you waive any right to participate in any class action, class arbitration, or consolidated proceedings.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of that provision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the original intent of the parties.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices or policies published by us on the Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and AI Text Detector regarding your use of the Service. These Terms supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, regarding the Service. No waiver of any provision of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such provision or any other provision, and our failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
