Making AI Detection
Transparent and Honest

Updated

We built AI Text Detector because people deserve tools that are upfront about what they can and cannot do. No inflated accuracy claims, no black-box results, no hidden agendas.

Detection you can trust

AI Text Detector exists to make AI content detection transparent, accessible, and honest. In a landscape where AI-generated text is becoming indistinguishable from human writing at first glance, people need reliable tools to help them understand what they are reading.

We built AI Text Detector because we believe that tool should be free for basic use, upfront about its limitations, and grounded in genuine expertise, not marketing hype.

Why detection matters

AI-generated content is everywhere. Large language models like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini can produce essays, articles, cover letters, and reports that read fluently and pass surface-level scrutiny. This creates real challenges: educators struggle to evaluate the authenticity of student work, publishers cannot easily verify the originality of freelance submissions, and hiring managers question whether application materials reflect a candidate's actual abilities.

Existing detection tools often make the problem worse by overpromising. Some claim near-perfect accuracy without publishing methodology. Others present detection scores as definitive verdicts rather than probabilistic estimates. We set out to build something better: a detection tool that is transparent about how it works, honest about what it cannot do, and responsible in how it frames its results.

What we stand for

Accuracy Over Hype

AI Text Detector can misclassify both human and AI writing. No verified accuracy or false-positive rate is published here. Treat the result as a prompt to review the text and its drafting history, not as proof of authorship.

Before You Submit

Text is sent to an external service for analysis. Do not submit confidential or sensitive material. Review the privacy policy before using the tool.

Education Over Punishment

We designed AI Text Detector to be a signal, not a judge. We actively discourage using detection scores as sole evidence of AI use. A confidence label is not a calibrated confidence interval or evidence of authorship.

Accessibility

Core detection is free with no sign-up required. We believe the students most likely to be harmed by false positives, including non-native English speakers, first-generation college students, and neurodivergent writers, should have free access to check their own work.

Transparency first

AI Text Detector is built on the principle that users deserve to understand how their results are generated. We do not treat our detection methodology as a black box. Our How It Works page explains the linguistic signals we analyze, and how they are combined into an overall score.

We believe this transparency is essential. When a tool produces a score that might influence whether a student passes a course or a writer keeps a contract, the people relying on that score deserve to know exactly what it means and where it might be wrong.

Read the result with care

A text check cannot establish who wrote a passage. Review drafts, sources, and the writing process before making a decision about someone's work.
